Acadia National Park is popular with photographers, and now I know why. It’s small enough to navigate with some camera gear, both on foot hiking and even driving around Park Loop Road (which we needed to do one rainy day).
Acadia serves us a diversity of landscapes. I was so excited to have a clear night for shooting the famous Cadillac Mountain sunsets. It is the highest point on the United Statesโ East Coast. The weather held out most of the next day for our hike, which included an unplanned (but pleasant surprise) trek to The Bowl (pictured above). We found an intrepid painter on Sand Beach. We shared Jordon Pond’s vista of fall folliage with just one other couple down the shoreline… it felt like we had Acadia all to ourselves (below).
Boulder Beach and Otter Cliffs did not disappoint… stunning and massive. The surrounding area is worth an exploration too. We spent a wonderful afternoon shooting the boats in Northeast Harbor, and snacking on the last lobster rolls and homemade blueberry pie of the season.
