Tokyo is home to so many interesting neighborhoods. It is difficult to see them all, but I am trying. After an excessive amount of jetlag makeup sleep (so much so that we missed the morning part of the itinerary), we ventured out for a long day of wandering, eating, observing and a bit of shopping, truth be told. We regained our strength with a delicious side-street lunch of Soba noodles and tempura paired with a dry Japanese #rosé born by cross-breeding Merlot and Muscat Bailey A. It was on the walk to lunch that we passed the elegrant woman seated in a window – first picture above.
We walked off our noodles through the rest of the afternoon into the evening. We shopped, we shot, we strolled. So many peculiar side streets in Omotesando. I made the decision to buy myself a pair of Stan Smith’s … but they didn’t have my size! Our friends bought some custom clothing while I looked for compelling characters walking by. As the evening set, we were still wandering around, which gave me the opportunity to try some night street shots, looking for some artifical light to frame in my lens.
One extra shot from this trip to share… we spent a lovely afternoon in Hamarikyu Gardens set against the backdrop of the city. The Nakajima No Ochoya teahouse there is over three hundred years old.
